Metropolitan Decadence

T/M: E. Waldner 1981/2011

On the outskirts of town walls and houses are grey

infrastructure's inexistent, all you see is decay

Strange cages made for the children to play in

Live for tomorrow, pay your duties today

Metropolitan decadence

metropolitan decadence

ah, those people don't stand a chance

they're longing for Viennese decadence

The city wears make-up: a rejuvenated harlot

mounted by tourists who believe their's a star's lot

Profeteers knowing that their deals by far got

better than esteemed but satisfied they are not

Metropolitan decadence

metropolitan decadence

ah, those people have more than a glance

on the real Viennese decadence

All those rednecks and backwood men

provincial right-wing congressmen

try to conquer this town now and then

but are failing and will be failing again

Metropolitan decadence

metropolitan decadence

ah, those people don't stand a chance

against the lure of Viennese decadence
